ĢƵ Climbs in U.S. News & World Report Ranking for Fifth Year

FLORENCE, AL – The latest rankings from U.S. News & World Report are out, and the ĢƵ has achieved its highest rankings to date, climbing in four key categories, including Top Public Schools in the South, Best Colleges for Veterans, and Regional Universities South.

“These latest rankings from U.S. News & World Report are a clear indicator that the ĢƵ continues to excel, whether that is in our academic programs, in our student-led programs, or as part of our record-breaking fundraising,” said ĢƵ President Dr. Ken Kitts. “What we know to be true about ĢƵ is that it is a place for learners at all stages in their academic careers to achieve in the classroom as students but also fulfill much-needed roles in the community, state, and region upon graduation.”

The ĢƵ official rankings are:

  • 12th in Top Public Schools in the South, up from 14th in 2023;
  • 11th for Best Colleges for Veterans, up from 12th in 2023;
  • 26th for Regional Universities in the South, up from 33rd in 2023; and

“ĢƵ is on a positive trajectory,” said Dr. Brien Smith, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. “These rankings give us much to be proud of, particularly with our academic programs and the resonance of the ĢƵ brand among current and prospective students, whether those students are on-campus or online.”

U.S. News publishes the Best Colleges rankings annually to provide prospective students and their families with helpful data and information on factors such as graduation rates, social mobility, and graduate indebtedness. Prospective students can see how ĢƵ compares to other institutions and how the rankings are calculated .
