The Tyree Family
In honor of Karl T. Tyree, the Tyree family made a large donation to the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Planetarium of $18000 to purchase new planetarium shows and update the equipment. Four shows were obtained using these funds. We appreciate this support of the planetarium and of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ.
Mr. Henry Tyree and family also donated a antique brass refractor that was used during the civil war on the Tennessee river. We are proud to display this beautiful instrument in our lobby area as a fine example of the brass refractors that were manufactured at the time.
