Presidential Mentors Academy

Welcome to the Presidential Mentors Academy!

The Presidential Mentors Academy is an immersive scholarship program designed to attract, recruit, and enroll exceptional high school students. For over 20 years, the PMA program has been a place where students find out who they are, become leaders, and experience student success in and outside of the classroom. This program is a student retention initiative dedicated to providing the support and resources necessary for students to thrive and successfully complete their college journey. The PMA program offers leadership development, mentoring, academic support, and a transformational student experience. We hope to welcome you soon into this prestigious program at the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ. Steps to Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ

The PMA program is a selective, leadership development program, that seeks students who demonstrate leadership potential, academic excellence, and commitment to community service.

To be considered for the PMA program, high school seniors must meet the following criteria:
  • Be admitted to the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ. to apply now. 
  • Minimum ACT/SAT score of 18/960-980 
  • Minimum 3.0 high school GPA (unweighted)
  • Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ through your MyÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ account (linked below) beginning November 3.
  • Deadline to apply is February 1.

Scholarship Details

Scholarship 

The PMA Scholarship is renewable for five years.  

Classification Annual Scholarship Amount
Freshman $2,000
Sophomore $2,200 + $500 bookstore
Junior $2,400 + $500 bookstore
Senior $2,600 + $500 bookstore
Fifth Year – if necessary $2,000

These are the renewal requirements for maintain your scholarship and graduating as a Presidential Mentor. 

 

Students who are admitted into the Presidential Mentors Academy must:

  • Successfully complete the PMA summer requirements their Freshman year which include:
    • Live in the residence halls for the month of July.
    • Successfully complete two in-person PMA courses totaling 4 credit hours during the month of July.
    • *All expenses for July are covered by PMA. This includes housing, meals, and courses.* 
  • Maintain full-time enrollment for Fall and Spring semester (minimum 12 credit hours per semester)
  • Successfully complete 27 credit hours per academic year (fall/spring) with an average grade of “B”
  • Must actively participate in monthly meetings and events.

Important note: If you were to lose your scholarship, you will not be able to return to the PMA program. 

Application Details

The PMA application will be open from November 1 to February 1. After applications close, eligible candidates will be contacted via email to schedule an IN-PERSON interview on Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ's campus.

Interviews will take place on February 15, 2027.

  • Important Note: PMA is a selective leadership development program with limited spots. Not all who apply will be contacted for interview.
